Starting & finishing in picturesque Bergen, with calls at the scenic Art Nouveau town of Alesund, the historic town of Trondheim, beautifully located Bodo & Tromso, tiny fishing settlements. Enjoy the amazing Arctic twilight and, if you are lucky, the spectacular, unforgettable Northern Lights!
CHRISTMAS CRUISE – ITINERARY & PORTS:
The ship will make an overnight extra stop at the pier which will be visited on December 24, due to the Norwegian Christmas celebration on board
Late evening departure from Bergen
We recommend early arrival, allowing you time to visit this beautiful coastal town with the UNESCO Bryggen wharf. You can leave your luggage at the Hurtigruten terminal, which is within walking distance of the Bergen centre
The Art Nouveau town of Alesund
Spend 3 hours at leisure in this unique, picturesque town.
The Hurtigruten ships are working vessels operating a regular service to a set timetable; the ships carry goods, vehicles and foot passengers between ports, during day and night, as an integral part of Norwegian daily life. On day 2 the ship will also call upon the ports of Floro, Maloy, Torvik and Molde
In the morning the ship sails in to the wide Trondheim fjord.
Spend 4 hours at leisure in this historic town, which was Norway’s first Capital. Trondheim is the home of Norway’s only cathedral; Nidarosdomen. You will also find authentic areas with tiny wooden houses, several of the largest wooden buildings in Norway as well as historic, wooden wharf houses along the scenic Nidelven river.

The beautifully located Arctic town of Bodo
You will be notified before the ship crosses the Arctic Circle before it arrives to the Arctic town of Bodo, surrounded by mountain peaks and islands. You will have a few hours to explore this Arctic town.
In the late afternoon the ship salis across the wide Vestfjord towards the amazing Lofoten Islands.

The Arctic capital Tromso
The ship passes along the scenic Vesteraalen islands and then into a magnificent archipelago to the north, before it reaches the world’s northernmost university town Tromso.
You will have 4 hours to spend in this vibrant Arctic town, before the ship continues to the north.
Honningsvaag & North Cape
The main port today is Honningsvag, the closest port to the North Cape.
You can join the optional excursion to this breathtaking site! The North cape is an impressive, 307-metre (1,007 ft) high cliff with a large plateau on top. Read more
After the excursion the ship passes the North cape and then on along the barren Finnmark coast.

Kirkenes – the turning point
The ship sails around the north and east coast of the Finnmark coast before it continues south via the Varangerfjord to the Arctic town of Kirkenes, the journey’s turning point.

Hammerfest – the northernmost town in Europe
Call at the Arctic town of Hammerfest, then across Soroysund to Oksfjord. Then across Lopphavet open sea before the ship finds quiet waters.
Ports visited today: Mehamn, Kjollefjord, Honningsvag, Havoysund, Hammerfest, Oksfjord, Skjervoy and the Arctic town of Tromso towards midnight.

The narrow Risoyrenna & Vesteralen islands
Today the ship passes through the amazing, narrow Risoyrenna channel between the Vesteralen and Lofoten Islands, with evening calls at the Lofoten islands
Ports visited today: Finnsnes, Harstad, Risoyhamn, Sortland, Stokmarknes with the Hurtigruten Museum, Svolvaer and Stamsund
The magic Helgeland coast
Enjoy spectacular winter scenery of the picturesque Helgeland coast, with its myriad of islets and steep mountains. The amazing 7 sisters mountain range will be visible just south of the tiny town of Sandnessjoen.

The historic island of Munkholmen leads the way to Trondheim. After the visit to Trondheim the ship passes the beautiful island of Hitra and on to the open sea of Hustadvika before approaching the city of Molde.

Towards the final port Bergen
Cruise through magnificent West Norway scenery from Alesund to Bergen, where you will disembark in the afternoon.
